The commission for deciding on offenses, decides under the Law on Food Safety, the Law on Veterinary Health ("Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia" no. 113/2007, 24/2011, 136/2011, 123/2012, 123/15, 154 /15, 53/2016), the Law on Food Safety for Animals ("Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia" no. 145/2010, 53/2011, 1/2012, 33/2015, 149/2015 and 53/2016), The Law on Animal Welfare and Protection ("Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia" No. 149/2014 and 149/2015), the Law on Identification and Registration of Animals ("Official Gazette of the Republic of Macedonia" No. 95/12, 27/14 and 149/15) and other laws in the field of veterinary medicine.

The commission was established by the director of the Agency for Food and Veterinary Medicine, and is composed of authorized officials employed by the Agency, one of whom is the president of the Commission, their deputies and the administrator of the commission. When conducting the misdemeanor procedure, the Commission appropriately applies the provisions of the Law on Misdemeanors, the Commission is autonomous and independent in its work and decides on the basis of the law, after free conviction, using its professional knowledge.
